A Collaborative Visit from the Medical University of Bialystok

Reimagining Pediatric Nursing Education with VLPN

Last week, Marianna Moore and Joanna Pieri, representatives of Cyprus University of Technology VLPN team, had the privilege of meeting with Professor Ludmiła Marcinowicz and Professor Małgorzata Zujko, who were visiting from Medical University of Bialystok. The meeting offered a wonderful opportunity to present VLPN — and the Virtual Reality Learning Environment (VRLE) designed to transform the landscape of pediatric nursing education.

The discussions centered on how immersive technologies like VRLE can enhance clinical learning, bridge the gap between theory and practice, and empower nursing students to develop clinical skills in a safe, simulated environment. Both teams shared a deep passion for advancing educational innovation and improving outcomes in pediatric care through technology-driven learning experiences.

The encounter provided an opportunity for a live tour inside the VR Learning Environment (VRLE), showcasing its impressive features and vast possibilities. The visiting professors also had the chance to experience the VRLE first hand, leaving them truly impressed by what they saw.

The visit also underscored the importance of international collaboration in healthcare education, by bringing together educators from diverse institutions and encouraging cross boarder collaborations.

This meeting marks another meaningful step in the journey toward innovative, technology-enhanced learning — and a shared vision for the future of nursing education worldwide.

A special thank you goes to CUTing Edge and its dedicated team members, Andrea Papadopoulou and Christos Aristodelous, for their invaluable IT support and for providing the virtual reality (VR) equipment that made this hands-on experience possible.
