Virtual Children’s Hospital for Learning Pediatric Nursing
First Test of Virtual Children’s Hospital
The Virtual Learning Platform (VRLE) – Virtual Children’s Hospital – was tested for the first time in autumn 2024, gathering valuable feedback from students in Finland, Cyprus and Estonia.
Overall, the VRLE showed promise despite initial navigation challenges. Some students found the virtual environment more engaging than traditional classrooms, even though technical issues were present. Study materials such as PowerPoints and posters were particularly well-received for their clarity and visual aids. Interactive activities like the 3D model of the respiratory system and child assessment tasks were also highlighted for their educational value.
Students suggested several improvements, including smoother program performance, better navigation aids, multilingual support, and enhanced visual clarity for 3D models.
